Split Second
Residency: Game Time.
Game Time
After the work-in-progress shows in San Francisco in mid-June, the artists are ready to take the next step in developing the dramaturgical arc and rhythm of the show Game Time. During their residency, they will further develop the music in collaboration with their musician, Ben Juodvalkis. They have a clear concept for the end of the show, but its execution is technically challenging. At Cas-co, they will test this new possible ending for the first time. After a week at Cas-co with CIRKLABO, the artists will travel to Wolubilis in Brussels, where they will present a new work-in-progress performance on July 26.
About Split Second
Founded in 2018 by twins Molly & Aviva Rose-Williams, the company Split Second plays at the intersection of circus and dance to explore human relationships on stage. They developed and toured their first two creations, “Mind the Gap” (2019) and “What It’s Like” (2020), in the San Francisco Bay Area. They are currently working on their third creation, “Game Time”, a full-length show exploring the glory and broken promises of sports and family on a Chinese pole. “Game Time” will perform its avant-premiere in October 2024 at ODC Theater in San Francisco, before beginning a tour in Europe.
