Solo takes you on a ride in the head of a young artist: Dreams, doubts and passion clash in an intimate puzzle of experiences and aspirations.

De performance SOLO starts in the 'now'. A young man appears alone on a stage, like he is doing an audition, with the audience as the judge. He gives his all to show that leaving the safety of his home was the best choice. Slowly but surely, he lets the crowd into his world, like were watching the inside of his head, where the dreams and aspirations pass by.

A chain of ideas, each with their own vibe: From nostalgia, interaction and clowns to contemporary, menacing and physical. It’s forming a puzzle, with the only connection being the artist that makes it up. In an intimate dialogue between the artist and the crowd, Pepijn searches for balance between his own dreams and other’s wishes. What is life all about? The spectacle and the stunts or the deepest human feelings behind it: fear, doubt, pleasure? SOLO is a performance about ‘the moment’. The moment you look forward to as a kid and reminisce about when you are old.

About the company

Pepijn Ronaldo walks the path of generational comedy. He travelled with Circus Ronaldo as a small boy, where he had his first stage experience. When he was 9 years old, he got his first official role in the show Circenses, where he travelled the world with his family, from NewZealand to Madrid. After his education at the Circus High school in Leuven and ‘l’École Internationale de Théâtre Lassaad’ in Brussels, he returned to his family in 2020. Since then, he
had different performances containing: applause, Da Capo and Sono Io?. With the last show he won the prize in 2022 for best actor -30.
