Melic

In Melic, rope is far more than a circus material: it becomes a living thread that connects bodies, memories, tradition, and renewal. On stage, hand-knitted ropes emerge as a poetic third performer: they move, stretch, relax, embrace, and release. Through their rhythm and presence, they create a play of forms, lines, and colours that awakens the senses and draws attention to every detail of the performance.

The choreography balances strength and fragility, control and surrender, revealing how bodies and threads support and carry one another. It is an intimate dialogue in which every movement carries meaning, where memories become tangible, and where the timeless wisdom of crafts such as knitting is made present once more. Melic invites wonder, attentiveness, and a deep sense of connection, creating a poetic space where generations and stories meet.

About If Circus

If Circus is a contemporary circus company based in Barcelona, founded in 2019 by Mar Olivè Nieto. In 2022, Shalom Gramiccioli joined the company, expanding their shared vision of circus into a rich artistic universe. Melic was nominated for the Catalan Circus Zirkolika Awards 2025.
