There is a man.
There is a door.
There is hope.
The man is waiting. Waiting … Together we wait.
He does his best to drive away the emptiness, but it is becoming increasingly clear how this is all going to end ...
Kintsugi is a show for all ages. It is a tale about absence, mourning and comfort. A journey from hope to despair, grief and anger, to the realisation that losing someone never leaves you,
and that this is okay.
Grief is a subject that connects us all. Fortunately, the clowning in Kintsugi fills us with lightness and laughter in the face of that despair.
Kintsugi is a play about how to live with who we are.

Jump for joy - A weekend that will make you happy.
The frog is an unassuming animal, often found in a ditch or puddle of water as the rain falls. Suddenly it jumps up. This leaping frog symbolises an unexpected burst of life after a period of adversity. As the frog jumps out of the ditch, so can we. That is why the leaping frog is the symbol of this theme weekend.
There lies great power in approaching the world with an optimistic, yet nuanced view, through the eyes of the arts. We tell stories that make you realise that true joy is rooted in loss. Joy can only exist in the awareness of suffering, because without suffering, joy is not conceivable. This is the starting point of the performances we present during this theme weekend.
