Every year, circus schools overflow with talent. The Leuven circus school Cirkus in Beweging welcomes three other schools from Belgium. The students are eager to give their best on stage.
In HECHT, six young performers explore the limits of a 4-metre rotating platform. An acrobatic and visual performance that reveals both the strength and fragility of friendship. As they grow closer to one another, they are simultaneously driven apart by exclusion, bullying, and teasing. An intense, contemporary, and visual experience about what it means to be together—and at the same time, to be pushed apart.
About the production group
Woesh is a circus atelier that inspires West Flanders from its bases in Bruges and Ostend. Woesh believes in the power of circus as a medium that connects people—regardless of age, background, experience, or talent. They pay special attention to individuals with specific support needs. Woesh therefore develops as an open learning environment where artistic experimentation, education, and inclusion go hand in hand. They do not do this alone, but collaborate extensively with others.
