Double Bill: Bareroots & Corps à Cordes
try-outs
This performance is still in development. During this try-out, the artists are happy to give you a unique glimpse into their creative process. So don’t expect a full, finished performance, but rather an engaging look behind the scenes.
Try-out: you’ll see a fragment or a few parts of a performance that the artists are testing in front of an audience. It’s a chance to discover how a circus performance takes shape step by step. You might even be able to contribute a little to the creative process!

Bareroots - Nas and Lena (DE/IT)
This is a juggling dialogue for
2 performers
4 hands
9 white balls
20 toes
120 square tiles of cress
Mix it well, let it brew, add a pinch playful inventiveness, serve on a 2x2 meter stage, in good company.
Bareroots is a juggling show that explores space limitation. The gradual appearance of a carpet of cress, an alive scenography, fills the room with colour and its fresh scent.
It is a show of details: precise gestures, detailed juggling sequences and cress manipulation come into focus.
Corps à Cordes - Katell Boudrandi-Saj (FR)
This is an invitation to a collective and intimate circus experience.
“There she is, in front of us. And suddenly, she starts dancing, as if her
body remembers a waltz that her memory has erased.
In a landscape of taut ropes, the body in turn becomes a wreck in balance, seeking support, seeking counterweight.”
About the company
Nastasja and Lena met in 2020 during their studies at Codarts in Rotterdam. Starting from different juggling approaches — movement in space and body-based juggling — they found a shared language. Through their mutual love for foot juggling, they explore how spatial limitation can reveal new forms of interaction and movement.
Katell Boudrandi-Saj is a circus artist specialising in trapeze dance. She graduated from ESAC in Brussels in June 2024. She has always had a keen interest in choreography and staging. Thanks to her experiences working alongside various artists, she is exploring contemporary circus in search of authenticity and multidisciplinarity.
